Boarding School Opening in the Engineering Lyceum

On the 1st of September the parade devoted to the Day of Knowledge took place at the Engineering Lyceum of KNRTU-KAI. This year's celebration was special: in the territory of the Lyceum opened its first boarding school building per 100 places. 

The rector of the KNRTU-KAI Albert Gilmutdinov opened the parade. He congratulated the lyceum students and their parents with the beginning of the academic year and noted that now the pupils living in the boarding school would be able to immerse completely in the engineering environment. He also wished everyone a successful year and conquered new engineering heights.

Also the director of the Engineering Lyceum-Dinar Gabidullin welcomed everybody. He thanked all who took part in the arrangement and construction of the boarding school, and wished everyone an excellent academic year. Then the director of the Lyceum was given the key of building.

The first building was already occupied by children from Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Mari El, Orenburg and Volgograd regions. In the boarding school there is everything for a comfortable stay of students: two-, three- and five-bed rooms, rest rooms, self-study rooms, play areas on each floor. Accommodation for both non-residents and Kazan students is free. An inclusive component is also implemented: there is a special room for disabled children on the ground floor with their own shower and toilet.

Parade at the University’s Campus

A series of festive events on the campus of KNRTU-KAI on Chetaeva Street was opened by parade. The festive atmosphere was supported by incendiary music and bright performances of creative student teams. The rector of the University Albert Gilmutdinov opened the ceremony. He addressed the audience with an inspired speech: «Dear first-year students! I have good news for you: you are very lucky! Turning to our undergraduates, I want to say: dear friends, you live beautiful days in these walls, everything is going well with you, you are just great! I address to your teachers, professors, directors of institutes, heads of departments, pro-rectors. All with the upcoming new academic year! With all my heart I wish you tremendous and grandiose successes!»

Andrey Fedorov, the Head of the Corporate Governance Department, congratulated students: « I wish you had your best years in KAI!»

Rushan Sakhbiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Volga-Vyatka Bank of Sberbank of Russia, also greeted students: « I’d like to wish you a fascinating study and an exciting spirit of knowledge that you must carry through the years at the university. I wish you to have the brightest memories from KAI!»

After that, Rushan Flyurovich presented a new joint project of Sberbank and KNRTU-KAI-a campus card - a multifunctional card of the MIR payment system, to which scholarships will be credited, and which will serve as an electronic pass to the university building. Using the card students can pay in the cafeteria, use it for working in the library and with multimedia equipment at the university.  It is worth noting that a unique map design was developed for KNRTU-KAI.

Albert Gilmutdinov called Sberbank a strategic partner of KAI and a world-class global bank. «Let the money on this bank card never end!» - said Albert Harisovich.

According to a good tradition,in the parade was the first-year students’ honouring, who can be called the best of the best - winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiads. All the students were given a rector scholarship and a scholarship to the President of Tatarstan. Also, the Library of Sberbank gave the winners and prize-winners of the Olympics books from the unique collection of the world's leading authors business literature.

After the end of the parade Rushan Sakhbiyev gave a lection about new tendencies in technological development. in the "Tupolev" Hall of the 8th educational building. 

Citywide Festival «First Class»

At 13:00 the festivities dedicated to the Day of Knowledge continued with the citywide festival «First Class». The venue was also a spacious area between the 2nd and 8th buildings of KNRTU-KAI, near the legendary Tu-144 airplane. A unique feature of the holiday was when children in a playful form received an ideas of science and took part in developing games. Guests of the holiday were able to visit the game training area for children, listen to lectures in the educational lecture hall, attend ecological master classes, taste dishes from various institutions of Kazan on food court, visit a sportsground, try themselves as a pilot on the aircraft simulator.

Гости праздника смогли посетить игровая обучающая зона для детей, послушать лекцию в образовательном лектории, посетить экологические мастер-классы, попробовать блюда от различных заведений Казани на фудкорте, посетить спортивную площадку, испробовать себя в роли пилота самолета на авиатренажере. Особое внимание было уделено экологической теме. Гости праздника смогли поддержать проект по раздельному сбору мусора, посетить мастер-классы по переработке одежды и декорированию стекла.

 The event was supported by the projects "Clever Kazan", House of Entertaining Science and Technology, "Eco-friendly Kazan", SRI "Prometheus", "Green Fitness".
