New admission regulations, increase in the number of state-financed places and the launching of a new Institute

In 2021 the number of state-financed places are as follows:

  • Secondary Vocational Education Programs – 255 (+5) places
  • Bachelor’s and Specialist’s Degree Programs – 1535 (+198) places
  • Master’s Degree Programs – 754 (+154) places

According to the Admission Campaign 2021 for all Bachelor’s and Specialist’s programs, KNRTU-KAI will establish admission tests in several subjects at the choice of applicants. For example, the Unified State Exam (USE) in Informatics or Physics. The applicant has the right to choose which examination results are more convenient for him/her to provide, or when the applicant takes several exams at his/her choice (both Physics and Informatics), the highest result will be taken into account.

Russian universities can also determine the upper number of training programs (specialties) on a prospective student may apply, and the number of consents. KNRTU-KAI sets a limit of 5 training programs and 10 consents. The Personal Insurance Policy Number is added to the list of mandatory documents given by applicants.

Admission will take place in two stages. The first stage is for those who enter the university without admission tests, namely: students who have any university admission benefit or who is going to university degree under employer-sponsored education. The second one is the main stage of admission. The main stage is divided into the first and second “waves”.

In 2021, KNRTU-KAI is establishing a new institute called the Higher School of Applied Information Technologies. The main goal of this Institute is to train IT specialists who meet the current market requirements, as well as technology entrepreneurs. Admission will be conducted for a Bachelor's degree program in Informatics and Computer Science, a language of instruction is English.
