"It was a Really Good Decision!"

The summer school KNITU-KAI "Wings for life - a journey into the world of engineering on the legendary supersonic Tu-144 airplane" is coming to end.  For two productive weeks students from different countries learned about laser and additive technologies, got acquainted with the scientific and technical equipment of the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies and KNRTU-KAI, visited the largest industrial enterprises of the republic and became imbued with the history of Kazan and Tatarstan.

Participants of the Summer School told about new experience and shared their impressions.

How did you get the information about the Summer School in KNRTU-KAI?

Marcus Ebner von Eschenbach (Germany): «I heard about it in the GoEast [program] of DAAD».

Maniya Keyurbhai (India): «I’d been looking for the summer school for one and half month before I found the Summer School there in the website of GoEast program of DAAD: it helped me a lot to find this summer school».

Wang Liao (China): «I found this program [with the help] of my teacher, and he recommended the Summer School to us (means “students”). I just said: «[I’ll] Go there!»

Was it difficult to make a decision to go to another country?

Marcus : «It’s pretty much the end of my studies, and I really wanted to do something that I could do only as a student. To go to Kazan seemed pretty interesting, so I applied for it».

Maniya : «I am an international student in Germany. It was a next step for me to learn something about Russian culture, also get some technical information and knowledge. So I decided to come here so far. It was really good decision».

Liao : «I like Kazan a lot. It’s a really big industrial city. And there’s a mix of a lot of religions, and many nice places to visit».

What impression did Kazan make on you?

Marcus : «Kazan is pretty beautiful, there’s a lot to do here. Mane good, very friendly people»

Maniya : «Kazan is a large industrial city, but here three world religions unite».

What lessons in the past days have you remembered the most?

Marcus: «I think [the lections about] numerical simulation [were interesting]. I really liked excursion to the KAI Laser».

Maniya : «I liked lecture about attitude manufacturing. I did some projects but I never had a chance to visit or to learn this kind of process so close»

Liao : «To be honest, all the lectures are very, very good. But lecture about the robots I remembered the most»

Would you advise your friends to take part in the Summer School?

Marcus : «Definitely yes. It’s a really good  time».

Maniya : «I’d like to do it because GRIAT gave me a lot so I’d like to return it back. I’ll recommend it to my friends».

 Liao : «Yes, I’m sure [about it]. Everyone here is very , very good – Claudia, Lily, Kamill, my friends from another countries; they are very kind. [There] I can learn many, many interestings, so yes, I’ll recommend it»
