"Life in the Universe"

01.08.2018 11:00

We invite everyone to attend Professor Richard Hoover's lecture "Life in the Universe".

Dr. Richard Hoover (Dr. Richard B. Hoover), Astrobiology Group Leader NASA Marshall Space Flight Ctr., announced the sensational results of his ten-year study. He says he found extraterrestrial microorganisms in meteorites.

– I conclude that life exists not only in a limited area – on the planet Earth, and much wider – quotes the scientist British newspaper Daily Mail. – and different forms of life in space are much more common than is commonly believed  among us, earth scientists.

Dr. Richard Hoover explored a very ancient meteorites found in Antarctica, Alaska, Siberia. He mainly studied the "stones" of a very rare species CI1 – the so-called carbonaceous chondrites, which are barely typed a dozen around the world, their age-about 4-5 billion years.

Sawing meteorites on the latest technology, astrobiologist considered their structure under a microscope in the hope of finding something strange and ... found in abundance! – it was the fossilized remains of living beings – microbes and algae.

– Many organisms have a great resemblance to those species that exist on Earth, – says astrobiologist. – But some are very different, for example, completely devoid of nitrogen.

However, the most amazing aliens nesting in meteorites are some kind of giant bacteria in the form of filaments, similar to terrestrial bacteria Titanospirillum velox. Richard Hoover believes they were petrified long before the meteorites hit the Earth. Simply put, the bacteria are alien or even from another galaxy, although very similar to ours.

The lecture will be held in English and promises to be very exciting and informative!
